- Early in my insurance career I realized that there are two major flaws when soliciting insurance prospects.
(1.) the prospect is generally allowing you to quote their insurance simply to keep the current agent honest.
(2.) the prospect is allowing you to quote only in hopes of obtaining a better price. If you don’t believe this ask yourself how often the prospect goes directly to the premium page when you hand him the proposal.
Target marketing can solve this problem by positioning you as the “expert” insurance professional in the prospect’s industry. In addition, you will already have the insurance carrier that wants that line of business.
You waste less time, have a committed carrier, better coverage, and premium becomes less of an issue.
